The most Amazing gift I could NEVER have asked for!!

I stated yesterday on my Facebook that my husband gave me the “most amazing 10 yr. anniversary gift ever” and to be honest, it truly was. This October, we will be together 13yrs, and this gift means more to me than anything he has ever given me in the past. So, here’s the story plus a little backtracking of the past.

Our actual anniversary is on Thursday the 23rd of June and Tyler had made plans for that night. My niece came home with us over the weekend and since she was already here, Tyler changed his plans to last night so she could babysit. I had no idea what we are going to do. When we get into Ty’s truck, he handed me this note card:
I thought this was so cute and was excited to see the next card!

Card Number 1:

We met in High school our sophomore year in Mr. Gray’s geometry class. We went to the high school, of course it’s not the same one we attended, but the classroom we met in was still there. Unfortunately, we couldn’t get into that part of the building, but we did walk around to newer section.

Card Number 2:
Our first date was at Grand Central Theatre. We watched Night at the Roxbury and it was a little awkward because we were the only ones in the theatre! I can remember being so nervous because he was my best friend and it was a little weird being on a date with him. We didn’t get to go to the theatre since it is no longer there. But the memory was good enough for me.

Card Number 3:
Our first kiss took place at the bottom of the stairs in the house I grew up in. We drove by, and Tyler wanted to knock on the door to see if we could go in. But I chickened out because I knew it was occupied by a bunch of college guys. Like I said earlier, the memory was still snough.

Card Number 4:
We worked at KFC together before and while we were dating. Tyler actually got me the job there. I didn’t know at the time, but he had a huge crush on me! I thought we were just great friends. Anyway, we went to KFC and ate dinner. It was fun to think back to all our times working together.

Card Number 5:
Yes, yes, I will admit it…..we got caught a couple times in our teenage years. No worries….it was mostly just kissing, but nonetheless it was still embarrassing! Since Fred Meyer now sits at one of the spots, Mt. View Park was the only other choice. We drove there & looked around.
Card Number 6:
Tyler moved in with me when we were 19. We lived in a cute little 2 brd room apartment on 9th Ave. We lived there for a couple years. This place was also special since it was the place Tyler proposed to me. He had told me he had to work for an hour in the morning, and he woke me up when he got back. I was sitting on our couch and out of nowhere, he turns on the CD player and Bryan Adams “Everything I do” starts playing. He asked me to dance with him. A minute or so later, he was complaining that his pant pocket kept bunching up. I told him to fix it, and the next thing I know, he’s down on one knee holding a gorgeous ring in front of me (so sad that I lost the diamond out of my ring about a year ago, and haven’t been able to afford to replace itL). By far, one of the best days of my life!!
Anyway, so we drive to our first apartment, and again, Tyler wants to see if we can go in. I was very hesitant at first (I mean, come on, we don’t know these people!) but I agreed to walk up the stairs to the door. Tyler knocked, and then just opened the door and WALKED IN!!!! I was freaking out!!  I start telling him (without yelling ‘cause I don’t know if these people are home) “Tyler, what the hell are you doing!!!??? Get out of there!!! You can’t just walk in!!!”.  He grabs my hand and pulls me into the apartment. I follow him into the living room and he pushes play on a CD player, and on comes Bryan Adam’s “Everything I Do”. At this point, I am still freaked out because we are in some strangers’ apartment, but in shock that we are dancing to “our song”.  So, after a minute or two, he fixes his pants, and I jokingly say “Oh, what, are your pockets bunching up again”. Ha Ha, right? Then Tyler gets down on one knee, and pulls out my wedding ring. Remember I said that I lost the diamond a year ago? Well, he got it fixed, only this time with a bigger diamond! I was stunned, and the only thing I could do was burst into tears. I had kind of given up having my ring back, even though I wanted it so much. He asked me if I would stay married to him for the next 10 yrs. and on. Of course, I said “YES!!!”.
After we were done dancing, Ty went and knocked on one of the bedroom doors. We go in, and the couple that lives there were hanging out. Still shocked and my face red from crying, I graciously met these people who let my husband, a complete stranger, come into their home to surprise his wife. We talked with them for a little while, and I’m pretty sure we made some new friends.

Card Number 7:
We were married in the Lutheran Church on Ruby St. We drove by, but of course it was closed. But, my memories were again enough.

Card Number 8:
Our final destination and the one with the most memories, past and future. I don’t think I could be any luckier! 10 years ago, I married a man that continues to love me for all that I am. He loves every last part of me, even my crazy part. He gave me three beautiful children who are his life and he is such an amazing father. Above all else, I have to thank God for making me my soul mate, the perfect person for me.

To my husband,
I love you more and more with every passing year. You make me a better person, and keep me in check when I need it. Thank you for being my rock during difficult times in our lives, and always letting me cry on your shoulder. Thank you for making me laugh when all I really want to do is be mad at you over something stupid. Thank you for never making me doubt your love for me and always being trustworthy. Thank you for working so hard to give the best for our family. I am so proud to call you my husband. So proud of the father you are. So proud of the hard worker and dedicated employee you are.  So proud of the amazing friend you are. So proud of the moral person you are, always doing the right thing, no matter the cost to you. I love you so much Tyler!! Thank you for loving me!

PS...Here's a picture of my "New" wedding ring!!
